Graduate studies in Biology are firmly based on research. The Graduate Program in Biology offers programs leading to the Master of Science degree (by research thesis) and the Doctor of Philosophy degree (by research dissertation).  It does not offer degrees based on course work.

Required courses in the graduate program are designed to enhance understanding  of current research in various fields, and to ensure students' thorough knowledge of their research specialty.  The research interests of the faculty are concentrated in a limited number of areas, namely:

  • Animal Physiology
  • Molecular and Cellular Biology
  • Ecology and Evolution

While our graduate Program is rigorous and demanding we maintain an informal and friendly atmosphere encouraging interaction and exchange of ideas and equipment between faculty and all students.
